Situated in Elmina, where the pace of life feels naturally unhurried, this double-storey intermediate terrace home is conceived as a calm and intimate retreat. Its modern industrial façade is gently softened by lush greenery, offering a first impression that is both refined and welcoming.
Designed for a client living with her mother and younger brother, the home prioritises comfort, safety, and longevity. A modern contemporary language shapes the interiors. Clean lines are balanced with subtle warmth, creating a space that feels quietly sophisticated yet enduring over time.
Laundry
A former guest room has been thoughtfully transformed into a multifunctional space tailored to the client’s lifestyle as a cat lover. It integrates a dedicated laundry area alongside designated zones for feeding and care, all carefully planned to maintain cleanliness and order. The adjoining balcony was extended to improve practicality, while handcrafted-style tiles introduce an artisanal layer of texture, elevating the space beyond pure utility into something expressive and considered.
Despite its functionality, the room retains a sense of comfort. A sofa bed creates a cozy reading corner, while smart storage ensures a seamless balance between daily living and pet care.

Kitchen
Looking ahead, the kitchen is envisioned as part of a second phase, guided by ease of use and safety for the client’s elderly mother. The proposed design adopts a restrained palette of soft neutral cabinetry paired with marble surfaces, resulting in a timeless and elegant composition.
To enhance convenience during cooking, a hidden spice rack is cleverly integrated behind the backsplash, allowing easy access. In support of a more organized kitchen, a hidden pantry was designed to store larger appliances and essentials neatly out of sight. This approach ensures the space remains uncluttered, functional, and effortlessly adaptable to daily needs.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom serves as a private sanctuary, designed for rest and quiet retreat. Integrated storage keeps the space composed, while a discreet handbag display with glass doors and soft LED lighting introduces a refined, personal touch. A bespoke headboard, complemented by gentle lighting and floral-toned wallpaper, creates a warm and soothing atmosphere. A compact workspace is subtly incorporated, supporting daily routines without disrupting the room’s sense of calm.
Overall, the home reflects a carefully considered balance between practicality and quiet luxury, designed to support everyday living while evolving gracefully with the family over time.
