Situated in Elmina, where calm lingers in the air and life moves at a gentler pace, this double-story intermediate terrace home begins as a quiet sanctuary of warmth and simplicity. Framed by a modern industrial exterior, the façade is softened with lush outdoor greenery, creating a welcoming first impression that feels both grounded and inviting.

Designed for a client living with her beloved mother and younger brother, the home is envisioned as a safe and comforting retreat for everyday living. A modern contemporary approach shapes the interiors, balancing clean lines with subtle warmth to create a space that feels current yet timeless. A home that grows effortlessly with the family over time.

Laundry

For a devoted cat lover, the former guest room was thoughtfully reimagined into a multifunctional space that supports both daily routines and her furry companions. The room now accommodates a dedicated laundry area alongside a designated feeding and potty zone, thoughtfully designed to keep the space clean and organized.

To enhance functionality, the small balcony was seamlessly extended, allowing for a more spacious and practical laundry setup. With the client’s appreciation for artisanal detail, handcrafted-style tiles were introduced along the nearby window wall, adding a unique and expressive touch to the space. This subtle layer of texture brings an artistic character to the laundry area, transforming a purely functional corner into one that feels considered, warm, and visually engaging.

Beyond utility, the space remains warm and livable—a cozy reading nook with a sofa bed invites moments of rest, ensuring the room still feels like a place to unwind. Smart storage solutions keep the space neat while comfortably meeting the needs of both the client and her cats, creating a harmonious environment for all.

Kitchen

For the kitchen, our team proposed a design concept for the upcoming second phase, thoughtfully guided by the client’s priority of safety and ease of use for her elderly mother. The vision embraces a simple yet modern approach, where soft neutral-toned cabinetry is paired with a marble countertop and backsplash. Creating a clean and timeless aesthetic that feels both elegant and practical for everyday living.

To enhance convenience during cooking, a hidden spice rack is cleverly integrated behind the backsplash, allowing easy access. In support of a more organized kitchen, a hidden pantry was designed to store larger appliances and essentials neatly out of sight. This approach ensures the space remains uncluttered, functional, and effortlessly adaptable to daily needs.

Master Bedroom

As the home’s primary private retreat, the master bedroom is designed as a calming escape to unwind and recharge after daily routines. Thoughtfully planned storage is seamlessly integrated to maintain a clean and uncluttered atmosphere, while a concealed handbag display with clear glass doors and soft LED lighting adds a subtle touch of elegance and exclusivity without overwhelming the space.

A bespoke headboard, paired with gentle LED accents and wall-mounted lighting on either side of the queen bed, enhances the room’s soothing ambience. The soft glow reflects onto the floral neutral wallpaper above, creating a warm and cozy backdrop that elevates the overall mood. For added functionality, a compact workspace is tucked neatly into the corner, offering a quiet spot for work-from-home moments while still preserving the room’s restful character.
