Located within Putra Heights, the neighborhood offers a calm and well-established residential setting. Tree-lined streets and landed homes create a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, where daily life feels steady and unhurried. With schools, parks, and everyday amenities just a short drive away, the area balances peaceful living with everyday convenience.
Exterior
What would you do with an extra side terrace?
For this corner-lot home in Putra Height, it became a private outdoor retreat designed for everyday moments. A corner lot comes with something many homeowners wish they had, an extra outdoor space. The goal was not only to modernize the exterior, but to create a more private and enjoyable environment for everyday living.
The façade was refreshed with a clean, contemporary palette, while new awnings provide shade and comfort across both the porch and side terrace. To enhance privacy, the existing railing fence was replaced with solid walls, transforming the outdoor area into a secluded retreat for the family.
Built-in planter boxes and a simple seating area complete the space, creating a quiet corner to enjoy a morning coffee, unwind after work, or spend time with loved ones outdoors. The porch was also thoughtfully extended to accommodate additional parking without sacrificing valuable garden space.
Sometimes, the most meaningful home transformations happen outside the front door.
Foyer
"How do I make my home feel more organised and welcoming from the moment I enter?"
That's often more compelling than discussing materials, handles, or joinery details, even though those are what made the design successful.
First impressions matter, not just for guests, but for the people who come home every day.
For this foyer transformation, the goal was to create an entrance that feels both welcoming and functional. A bespoke storage solution was designed around an existing structural column, turning a potential limitation into a seamless feature while keeping everyday essentials neatly organized. Dedicated spaces for shoes, umbrellas, jackets, and daily necessities help reduce clutter from the moment you step through the door, while warm lighting adds a sense of comfort and arrival.
The result is more than just a beautiful entryway, it's a space that sets the tone for the rest of the home. Good design isn't only about what you see. It's about how a space makes you feel the moment you walk in.
Living Area
Sometimes, a home doesn't need more space, it needs a better flow. The biggest improvement isn't adding a room, it's changing the way you move through the home.
For this transformation, the main entrance was relocated to create a dedicated foyer, giving the home a more natural and welcoming arrival experience. This simple change improved circulation and helped define the transition between spaces.
To bring in more light and openness, the existing window and sliding door were replaced with full-height sliding doors, strengthening the connection between the living area and the outdoor terrace. The result is a brighter, more spacious environment that feels equally suited for everyday family life and entertaining guests.
At the heart of the space, a bespoke TV feature wall provides both visual focus and practical storage, with concealed compartments keeping everyday clutter out of sight. The result is a home that feels more open, connected, and effortless to live in.
Because great design isn't always about adding more, it's about making what you have work better.
Dining Area
A dining room isn't measured by its size, it's measured by the moments shared within it. This transformation turned a compact dry kitchen into a dining space designed for connection. Some of the best moments at home happen around the dining table.
For this renovation, a compact dry kitchen was reimagined into a spacious dining area designed to bring the family together. By opening up the layout and introducing a new sliding door to the side terrace, the space now feels brighter, more connected, and far more welcoming.
Natural light flows effortlessly into the room, while a simple palette and carefully selected details create a calm and inviting atmosphere for everyday meals and special occasions alike. The result is more than a larger dining space. It's a place designed for conversations, celebrations, and shared moments. Great design isn't just about creating beautiful spaces. It's about creating spaces where life happens.
Kitchen
The original kitchen could comfortably fit only a few people at a time. The homeowners wanted a space where cooking, gathering, and daily life could happen together. A kitchen should bring people together, not limit how they use the space.
For this renovation, a compact wet kitchen was transformed into a spacious and integrated cooking environment by extending into the former outdoor laundry area. The result is a brighter, more open layout that allows cooking, dining, and everyday family interactions to happen more naturally.
During the transformation, an existing structural column was revealed at the center of the new kitchen layout, where the kitchen island should be. Rather than hiding structural constraints, we embraced them by introducing a hanging shelf above the kitchen island, allowing the column to blend naturally into the composition. An existing column became part of the design through the introduction of a suspended shelf above the island, turning a challenge into a functional feature. This approach not only softens its presence but also turns it into a functional and intentional design element within the space.
A tall unit anchors the space, thoughtfully designed with a concealed pantry and a dedicated section for laundry functions. Behind bi-fold doors with slim black handles, appliances and essentials are neatly tucked away, keeping the kitchen clean and uncluttered. Soft LED lighting within the pantry subtly highlights the cabinetry, elevating it into a quiet focal point that enhances both practicality and the overall ambience.
The laundry area is thoughtfully integrated within the kitchen, designed to accommodate a front-load washing machine without overwhelming the space. This arrangement allows for a smooth and practical flow, with easy access to the backyard where laundry can be dried under the sun, making daily routines feel effortless and well-connected. Alongside the washing machine, a dedicated compartment discreetly conceals the water inlet and outlet for our client’s water dispenser, while keeping everything easily accessible for maintenance. This careful detailing ensures a clean, uncluttered look, with wiring and services neatly hidden from view.
The original window was repositioned to better complement the new layout, creating space for a new two-panel top-hung window near the sink that brings fresh air and natural ventilation into the area. In addition, two-panel casement windows and a bespoke single-leaf door leading to the side yard have been introduced, with the door design echoing that of the main entrance. The strategic placement of these new openings promotes effective cross-ventilation throughout the space, enhancing both comfort and airflow.
Multipurpose Room
Not every room needs a fixed purpose. For this home, an underutilized multipurpose room was transformed into a flexible space that supports both work and quiet reflection. Designed to adapt to the family's daily routines, the room now functions as a productive workspace while remaining open and comfortable for prayer when needed.
Thoughtful storage solutions help keep the space organized and clutter-free, while warm neutral finishes create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. To further unify the home, new SPC flooring was introduced and extended into the adjoining dining and kitchen areas, creating a brighter and more cohesive living environment.
The result is a space with greater purpose, flexibility, and everyday value, because the best rooms are the ones that evolve with the way we live.
First Floor
As families grow, the way they use their homes evolves too. For this renovation, the first floor was completely reimagined; from a two-bedroom layout with a shared bathroom into three bedrooms, each with its own private ensuite. The transformation involved extensive planning and construction works, creating a home that better supports comfort, privacy, and everyday living.
A new bedroom was introduced, while the existing bedrooms were expanded to accommodate their own bathrooms. Where access to natural light was limited, a skylight was carefully incorporated to brighten the space and create a more uplifting environment.
The bathrooms were also redesigned with practicality in mind, featuring improved layouts, integrated storage solutions, and finishes that bring a sense of calm and cohesion throughout.
The result is not just more rooms, but a home that works better for the family today and for years to come. Sometimes, the best move isn't finding a bigger house. It's reimagining the one you already have.
